CYR is excited to get our winter conditioning underway. This is a crucial time in our preparations for spring racing. This is also a great time for new athletes to join us! Whether you think rowing could be the sport for you or you want to stay fit during your off season, give CYR a try!
We will be offering three sneak peek weeks, see dates below. This opportunity is for athletes who have never tried rowing before. It is a great way to be introduced to the sport on ergometers before we get on the water this spring. We train each winter with cross-training and on the ergometers. They will learn how to train hard and become apart of the team. This is for athletes grades 9-11th.
Middle school athletes can also sign up for a sneak peek week to join our Middle School erg only squad this winter/spring. *Middle School program is only two days a week*

If the athlete enjoys training with us and wants to continue they will be able to join January 2nd for a pro-rated price. See below for details.
If your new rower loves CYR and wants to continue they will be able to register for the second part of winter training running from Jan 2nd-Feb 10th or until we can get back on the water. Cost $300 for high schoolers. Please only sign up for the winter season AFTER your child has attended a sneak peek week. If your athlete wants to join us for the spring season it is required they participate in winter conditioning.
If your athlete did a learn to row with us over the summer they do not need to do a sneak peek week. They can go ahead and register for Winter Conditioning start date December 2nd.
For high school athletes our winter training is up to 6 days a week (Saturday being fun days typically in Freedom Park). We do not track attendance in the winter because we go off the philosophy of do not be upset with the results you didn't get, with the work you didn't do. We understand some athletes may be doing other sports and can only attend certain days a week, that is acceptable.
New athletes will practice:

Friday 4:30-6pm
Middle School Athletes this winter will run the following schedule:
Middle School Boys- M/W 6-7pm
Middle School Girls- T/Th 4:40-5:40pm
